Module 13- Two-digit Addition and Subtraction

The learning goals: the student can:

Lesson 1: use a hundred chart to add two-digit numbers

Lesson 2: use place value to add two-digit numbers

Lesson 3- use place value to subtract two-digit numbers

Lesson 4- choose strategies to add/subtract two-digit numbers

Lesson 5- solve addition/subtraction facts to 20

Lesson 6- add/subtraction with two-digit numbers

Lesson 7- add/subtract 10 more/ 10 less

Module 12- Addition and Subtraction in base Ten

Learning goals, the student can

1. add multiples of ten (ex: Joe has 30 yellow glasses and 40 blue glasses. 3 tens + 4 tens= 7 tens so it's 70 glasses.

2. subtract multiples of ten (ex: 70 surfers are at a contest. 30 surfers left the competition: 7 tens - 3 tens= 4 tens

so 40 surfers still competing)

3. use a hundred chart to add two-digit numbers with ONE-digit numbers (multiples of ten).

4. combine tens and ones to add a ONE-digit number or a multiple of ten TO a two-digit number.

5. Use a ''make a ten strategy'' to add a two-digit number and a ONE-digit number

and use a VISUAL model (number line)

Module 11, COMPARE NUMBERS , Learning goals:

student can:

a) use tens and ones to compare two-digit numbers and find the number that is greater;

b) use tens and ones to compare two-digit numbers and find the number that is less (fewer)

c) use the symbols < , >, and = to compare two-digit numbers
