Teacher Bio
Hello, I am Amy Winning and I am honored to be a teacher at World Compass Academy!
I grew up outside Chicago, IL. I attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL, and received my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education. I also have my Master's in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I have 13 years of elementary teaching experience: 10 years in full-day kindergarten and 3 years in second grade. I have also spent time teaching preschool and substitute teaching, including at WCA. I have taught in Illinois, Mississippi, Texas, Missouri, and now Colorado!
My husband was in the Air Force for 20 years, so naturally we moved a lot. We have lived in many states, and now we have wonderful friends scattered all over the world. He retired at the end of 2019, and he is from Littleton, so we decided to settle here in Castle Rock. We absolutely love it here, and we are most excited to put down some roots and stay put.
We have been married for 17 years, and have two boys, who are in fifth and sixth grades at WCA. My hobbies include: baking (learning how to do gluten-free now!), cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, watching my boys on the sports fields and courts, and listening to endless stories about Fortnite and Minecraft.
