About Mr. Merkling

Hello! I'm Richard Merkling, and I'm thrilled to be teaching Acting, Improvisation, Technical Theatre, and more at World Compass Academy this year. With six years of experience in education, I've developed a strong background in the arts. I spent five years in the Theatre department at Regis Jesuit High School before joining the WCA community last year. Before diving into education, I had the exciting opportunity to create fun escape room experiences in Colorado Springs. I hold a BA in Theatre from BYU and a Master's Degree from the University of Colorado Denver. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing board games, stargazing, cooking, and attending theater shows. My motto is "Make Cool Things," and I'm excited to be doing just that with our WCA Cougars this year.
